Write a dialogue between two friends about how to speak English fluently.

Ahona : Hi Ishita! How are you?

Ishita   : I am fine. And you?

Ahona : I am also fine? Summer vacation is going on. What are you doing now?

Ishita   : I am doing nothing but I have taken decision to get admitted into a coaching center sothat I can speak English fluently.

Ahona : Can’t you speak English fluently?

Ishita   : No, dear friend. I have seen that you can speak English fluently. Can you tell me the way how I can speak English fluently?

Ahona : Yes, I will tell you the way of speaking English fluently. For this you need not get admitted into any coaching center.

Ishita   : But, how I can speak English fluently.

Ahona : Studying English for an hour once a week isn’t usually enough to make any real progress. The best way to improve your English quickly is to spend at least a few minutes practicing every day. Immerse yourself as much as possible every time you study, and challenge yourself to listen to, read and even say things in English that you think might be too difficult for you. If you want to speak English fluently, you need to make it an essential part of your everyday life.

Ishita   : Then?

Ahona : Stop thinking of yourself as someone who is learning English, and start thinking of yourself as someone who speaks English. It’s a small change, but it will make you feel more confident and help you to use English properly. This also means you need to start thinking in English. If you want to say the word “apple” in English, for example, right now you probably think of the word in your native language first, and then try to think of the correct word in English. Instead, try imagining a picture of an apple, and then just think the English word “apple.”

Ishita   : The way you are telling me is wonderful.

Ahona : When most students listen to a native English-speaker, they focus on understanding what all the words mean. This is definitely important, but there is a lot more you can learn from listening. Try listening not just to what the words mean, but to how the person says them. Notice which words the person links together in a sentence, or when they say “ya” instead of “you.” Try to remember these details the next time you speak and your English will begin to sound more natural.

Ishita   : I think if I follow the way you are telling, speaking English fluently will be natural to me.

Ahona : Yes, of course. As a child, you learned your native language through trial and error – making mistakes and correcting yourself. And the best thing to do to become fluent in English is to adopt the same method. When you’re learning, it’s almost impossible to say something perfectly the first time. You need to try, then try again, and then when you feel you’ve got it, you can put the new language into practice in a real-life situation. And even in that case, making mistakes is natural and useful because mistakes teach you the right way.

Ishita   : Oh! It’s a very good way of speaking English fluently.

Ahona : If you follow the ways I have told you, I think you will be a fluent speaker very soon.

Ishita   : Yes, dear friend. I will follow the ways.

Ahona : You must practice speaking with friends and classmates everywhere. Now I have to go. Bye.

Ishita   : Okay, friend bye.
