A Rainy Day


*After hot days of June, a rainy day is welcomed. In summers ponds be­come dry. Birds and animals feel thirsty. All men, women and children feel uneasy during hot days. With the falling of rains everyone gets happy. Peacocks present a dance during rainy days. Frogs in ponds cry very loudly. The Buffaloes enjoy a bath in water ponds. Some people enjoy rain bath including the children who play in rain water. The farmers became happy. They had been praying for the rainfall. Farmers started ploughing their field.People come out in rain-coats and use umbrellas during rains. If it is raining in- the morning children be­come happy because now it would be a holiday for them. Level of rivers begins to rise. A cold wind blows. The weather becomes pleasant due to rains. There is also thunder and lightning.

A Rainy Day

*On a rainy day it rains all day long. A rainy day is dull and gloomy. The sky is overcast with thick clouds. The sky is not seen. None can go out without an umbrella. Water stands on roads and slippery. Those who have officials and other business go out with umbrellas over the head. Shoes in hand clothes folded up to knee. Passersby also moves in the same way. Sometimes people slip and fall on the midway. The poor suffer much on a rainy day. They cannot go out in quest of work and cannot earn their daily food. They pass the day through suffering. Most of the students do not go to the school. Only a few go to school but they get drenched on the way. So classes are not held and it is a day of great joy to them. Other people also stay at home and pass the day without doing any things. The cattle keep standing in their sheds and bellow for fodder. A rainy day is not pleasant at all.

*A rainy day usually occurs in the rainy season. It is day when it rains throughout the day. The sky is covered with clouds and the sun is not visible. It rains without any break and in cats and dogs. Going out becomes almost impossible. Roads become slippery and go sometimes under water. Passers-by have to walk with their shoes in hand. Poor people suffer a lot as they have to work under open sky and their lying place may be washed away by the rain. Students may feel well as in a rainy day usually schools remain vacant. But people who have no alternatives of going out have to suffer a lot. Others people sit idly at home. Thus a rainy day is a sunless day which often becomes monotonous.

A rainy day is a day when it rains all day long. It may heavily or slowly. It seems dull and gloomy. They sky is covered with dark clouds. Clouds fly here and there in the sky. Most of the time, the sky is not seen clearly. People can not go out without umbrella. Water stands on the road. Village roads become muddy and slippery. Sometimes roads go under water. As a result, vehicles can not run on the road. It brings sufferings to the office going people. Sometimes it may late to reach the office. A rainy day is a curse to the poor people too. They can not go out from their house to earn livelihood. They have to starve. It also brings sufferings to the school going boys and girls. They can not go to their educational institutions. Though a few go, they get drenched on the way. As a result, classes are not held. So, it becomes a joyous day to them. A rainy day shakes our mind. It reminds our childhood. Sometimes we become affectionate to remember our childhood.

A rainy day is a day when it rains continuously all day long during the rainy season. It is called a pouring day. The sky is overcast with thick of black clouds and the sun remains hidden behind them. The weather is foul. The sun is not seen. Sometimes, gusty wind blows with rain. Rivers, canals and tanks swell up. Roads and paths get muddy and slippery. Water stands here and there. Normal life is disrupted due to heavy rain. One does not generally come out without compulsion. The common people cannot attend their respective places in time. If anybody wants to go outside, he has to take an umbrella with him. The poor and the day laborers do not like a rainy day. They cannot go out to earn their living. Their suffering knows no bounds. They go on starving. A rainy day is most welcomed to the students, as they have no classes in the school. A rainy day brings joyous mood to the young boys of the same age and they are seen to bathe in rainwater with merriment. People pass the boy in listening to music, watching TV, reading novels. Those who have imaginary bent of mind enjoy the beauty of nature being drenched in rains. The cloudy sky lets loose their emotions. A rainy day has good effect on the soil. It helps plants to grow, flowers to bloom and nature looks fresh and beautiful. However, a rainy day is not pleasant to all.
